Historically, comic books were published on a brisk monthly publishing schedule. Most of the graphic guides produced by the Applied Cartooning Lab however take at least a year to complete. Creating Beyond Punishment was a slow, deliberate process shaped by dozens of individuals and organizations who offered feedback along the way. Each partner brought essential knowledge, experience, and perspective, ensuring the final work is accurate, meaningful, and grounded in lived realities.
Throughout the book’s development, the feedback we received continually challenged us to be more precise, clearer, and more thoughtful. We create these guides to be useful tools for the organizations and educators who will put them into practice.
